Game of the Month Part 1 (August, 2019)

Hello!

As someone who works on, plays, and goes to school for video games, I happen to go through a lot of them over time. Whether it be on steam, where I have a library of 300+ games, or any number of games I own for the PS4, there is no shortage of games to talk about.

Because of this lack of shortage, I normally jump from game to game. In this segment, I want to discuss and review a game that I’ve been playing a lot of for that month. Hopefully, every week I can share something about it or go more into depth about certain aspects. So, to begin with this month, I am going to talk about Borderlands 2.

Borderlands 2 is the second game in the Borderlands series, taking place third chronologically. Borderlands 3 is set to release this September, and will be the fourth installment of the main series. In this looter-shooter, you take control of one of six vault hunters. Each with their own playstyles and specialties.

Having been left for dead by Handsome Jack, a snarky, eccentric villain who fancies himself as a hero. You play as a Vault Hunter who joins a resistance to take down Handsome Jack after his betrayal. Whether it be solo or co-op, this First-person-Shooter has tons of fun to be had and many secrets and references to discover.

This game has just about everything that I want in an interactive experience. The non-player characters have depth. The art style is cel-shaded for that comic book look in 3D. The humor is crude, making it fit for the mature rating. And best of all, it has lots of items to loot.

Since this is an introduction to a thing I want to do more consistently, I’ll cap it here. Next week I’ll delve into something more about Borderlands 2 that I genuinely enjoy, the loot.

If you haven’t checked it out, you can get it from the following links:
